When our schools, including early childhood programs, have an academic focus on memorization and rote learning of Reading, Writing and Arithmetic, we unintentionally create a gap in our children’s development. Kids need an opportunity to explore the information they are presented, and to develop problem solving techniques that will serve them throughout their lives.
