ActionScript Programmer

Cackleberries is a children’s entertainment and education company devoted to creating socially responsible children’s entertainment products, and we’re looking to bring another full-time ActionScript Programmer to the team!

We are a small, fast-paced team developing the newest programs in early childhood education.  You will be working closely with our artists and programmers to develop games and locations in the virtual world of Oville.  At Cackleberries, you have the opportunity to help take a dream from conception to reality.

Opportunities

Responsibilities

• Developing fun and educational games for children aged 3-7
• Expanding the virtual world of Oville by programming new locations
• Working with artists to create an immersive gaming experience

Requirements

• Experience with ActionScript 3.0 or other dynamic scripting languages
• Minimum two years experience/education in computer programming
• Strong understanding of Object Oriented Design principles
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to thrive under tight deadlines
• Canadian citizen, permanent resident status, or work visa in place
• Must live in or relocate to Greater Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Assets

• Experience with Adobe AIR
• Experience developing online games and/or virtual worlds
• Knowledge of PHP and/or AMFPHP
• Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, XML and JavaScript
• Flash animation experience is a plus
